Lady Rose named IDEA 2026 Finalist
We are delighted to share that Lady Rose has been named a finalist in the “Scrappy Design” category of the 2026 Island Design Excellence Awards!
Lady Rose unfolded as a collaborative, collage-based design with a view towards adaptive material reuse. The design cleaned up the floor plan and set up a framework for aesthetic adaptability; without preconceptions of colour, texture, and materiality; and that allowed freedom to play and to be surprised. Materials and fixtures were sourced from the local Habitat for Humanity Restore and end-of-stock suppliers. By selecting materials in a loose, “as they are found/discovered” procurement strategy, each material informed the next. A neutral textural palette was composed and paired with bold painted walls to create visual contrast (and allow for simple refreshes as tastes change).
