The West Coast Modern League presented an On the Board's talk at Addition Agency in Vancouver's Armoury District. We welcomed Vancouver-based ceramic artist Andrea Copp and artist/designer Mike Seymour, each sharing their latest works and research within practices that both articulate intuitive, material-led experimentation with sculptural and functional prerogatives, shaped by life experience, place, community, and technique.

The West Coast Modern League will be joined by pre-eminent Canadian architect John Patkau for a talk exploring the creation of architecture and design through unconventional material practice. Taking place at The Polygon Gallery as part of West Coast Modern Week 2025.

Steve and Chelsea spent an incredible weekend at the Design Victoria Festival hosting one of the West Coast Modern League's On the Boards talks with Julian Carnrite and Bruce Greenway. We are so grateful to the speakers for devoting their time and efforts to sharing their stories and recent projects, and to everyone who joined us in celebration of exceptional local design.

The West Coast Modern League welcomed Toronto-based Siamak Hariri, architect of the soon-to-open Marianne and Edward Gibson Art Museum at Simon Fraser University Burnaby Campus. Siamak shared this and many other projects undertaken over the past 30 years of practice.

Choklit Salon, organized by the West Coast Modern League as a fundraiser for its public programs and initiatives, featured an afternoon at the Arthur Erickson and Nick Milkovich-designed Choklit Townhomes, with special guests Nick Milkovich, and an exquisite art collection curated by homeowner Bruce Munro Wright.

This year, with the West Coast Modern League, Steve introduced the Vancouver premiere of Schindler Space Architect, a feature length documentary on the life and works of Austrian-born American architect Rudolph Schindler.

The West Coast Modern League presented a talk as part of the re-launched Design Vancouver Festival. Bridging the disciplines of architecture, interior design, and art in the public realm, Andrea McLean and Imu Chan each presented projects recently completed or currently underway.
