Mermaid Sanctuary named Western Living Design 25 Finalist

We are delighted to share that Mermaid Sanctuary has been named a finalist in the “Rooms” category of Western Living’s Design 25 Awards!
This project began as the pursuit of a dream home — a renovation of a 1985 house by the late local architect John Kay. Our goal was to honour its quirky modernist roots while reflecting the new owners’ love of soft forms, colour, and hand-honed craft. The renovation reimagined spaces for cooking, leisure, recreation, and rest, introducing new materials and details while staying deeply connected to the original architecture.
Thank you to our creative clients for your confidence, patience, and impeccable style; to the brilliant crew at Quantum Construction for your collaborative spirit and attention to detail; and to the many thoughtful sub trades and craftspeople who helped bring this vision to life. Thank you also to Gergo Farkas for lending us your eye and capturing the spirit of this project so thoughtfully. This project has been a joy, and we are both so grateful to have worked with such an inspiring and talented group of humans.
